HackWithInfy Interview Experience 2025
The following documents the HackWithInfy experience based on candidate reports from 2022-2025 drives. HackWithInfy consists of an online coding round, a grand finale hackathon (for top 100), and technical interviews that determine the final role assignment at Infosys.
Round 1: Online Coding Challenge
The first round in the hiring process is a 3-hour individual online coding test conducted on the Infosys Assessment Platform (IAP) or HackerEarth (in earlier years). It consists of 3 coding problems of increasing difficulty: Easy, Medium, and Hard. Participants receive test link and credentials via email after registration.

Difficulty Level
The overall difficulty is moderate to very high. Q1 is solvable with basic DSA knowledge. Q2 requires strong algorithmic thinking (Greedy approach). Q3 is tough and typically DP-based - solving all test cases requires advanced competitive programming skills. Candidates report that solving 1-2 questions completely is sufficient for DSE/SES roles. Solving all 3 targets Power Programmer.

Easy Question Examples
Array-based problem: Manipulate an array based on given conditions (implementation).
Cricket team problem: Track players going missing each day and compute results.

Medium Question Examples
String-based problem: Given a string s, explore transformations using concatenation operations.
Greedy optimization: Minimize total unhappiness when serving N hotel guests.
Partially graph-dependent optimization problem.
Hard Question Examples
Dynamic Programming: Optimization problem on trees or graphs.
Graph-based: Find shortest path with constraints.
Tree data structure: Tree diameter, subtree queries, or tree DP.
Round 2: Grand Finale (Top 100)
The top 100 participants from Round 1 are invited to a 4-day hackathon at an Infosys campus. Teams are formed by Infosys. The theme typically involves building AI-powered, future-ready solutions. Teams develop and present solutions to a jury. Travel and accommodation are sponsored by Infosys. Cash prizes: 1st ₹3,00,000, 2nd ₹1,50,000, 3rd ₹1,00,000. Champion of Champions award for best individual performer.
Round 3: Technical Interview (PPI)
Based on Round 1 performance, shortlisted candidates are called for pre-placement interviews (PPI). The interview covers DSA concepts, competitive programming approach, algorithmic thinking, resume projects, and latest technology. For Power Programmer candidates, system design basics may be tested. HR-type questions (why Infosys, career goals, strengths/weaknesses) are also included.
Common interview topics reported: OOP concepts and implementation (polymorphism types), algorithm complexity analysis, approach explanation for Round 1 problems, data structures (trees, graphs, hash maps), DBMS basics, and project deep-dive. Candidates report that the interview assesses both technical depth and communication ability.
HR Component
The HR component is included within the technical interview rather than as a separate round. Common questions: self-introduction, why Infosys, career goals, strengths and weaknesses, and willingness to relocate. The HR component is relatively easy and focuses on communication and personality.
Overall Interview Experience Summary
HackWithInfy consists of Round 1 (3-hour coding challenge with 3 problems), Grand Finale (4-day hackathon for Top 100), and technical interview (PPI) for role assignment.
